Please review our FAQ on hosting a pre-order with Scribbles before filling out the form
Why work with Scribbles for your signed pre-orders?
Publishing a book is a lot of work. During release, we don’t need to tell you how many moving parts there are.
By working with Scribbles, we host and coordinate every aspect of the pre-order. All you have to do is order the author copies, sign them, and send them to us.
No more setting up a fulfilment center in your living room!
Can I also do a signed pre-order myself (website / etsy) or with another bookstore?
While we prefer and prioritize preorders that are exclusive to us, we do not require it!
Can I still have an eBook or non signed paperback preorder somewhere else?
Yes. You are allowed to have signed preorder for paperback or eBook anywhere that books are sold.
Can I still offer pre-order incentives which I mail to readers who provide proof of purchase for ebook or non signed preorders?
Yes. You may still offer pre-order incentives for all orders.
What should I expect for marketing?
While the main marketing of the book is the responsibility of the author, we are excited to be a supporting partner. We provide a link to your pre order page which you can add to your website, social media bio(s), share in newsletters, etc. During the campaign, we make an effort to include your book a minimum of once within our weekly newsletter, on our preorder round ups, and we are also open to doing collaboration post(s) about the campaign with you directly! While we may also include / promote it earlier, please note, we tend to "ramp up" most marketing for preorders 3 months in advance. This is so we can prioritize campaigns which are releasing soonest to give them a proper boost prior to release.
When can I submit for Scribbles hosting a preorder?
We ask that you only submit 6 months or less to release. But no less than 6 weeks before release.
This is because customers tend to get frustrated when it takes too long to get their goodies (even if we tell them it's a preorder 100 times over). To avoid that, we try to reduce the length of time they're waiting for their pre orders!
(The only exclusion is when working with a traditionally published author due to the extensive amount of planning that coordination takes with their publisher.)
Can I (or a book store) still collect preorders for an in person release signing event?
Yes!
Are you a reporting bookstore?
Yes, sales data from Scribbles is reported to NYT Bestseller list as well as ABA/USA Today.
