FAQ For Signed Pre-orders Hosted By Scribbles

Why work with Scribbles for your signed pre-orders?

Publishing a book is a lot of work. During release, we don’t need to tell you how many moving parts there are.

By working with Scribbles, we host and coordinate every aspect of the pre-order. All you have to do is order the author copies, sign them, and send them to us.

No more setting up a fulfilment center in your living room!

Can I also do a signed pre-order myself (website / etsy) or with another bookstore?

No. Due to the limited capacity we have for preorders, we require that the preorder be exclusive to us. This is because we work in collaboration with the author to collect the preorders and fulfil them in a timely manner.

However, you are allowed to have a non signed preorder for paperback or eBook anywhere that books are sold.

Can I still have an eBook or non signed paperback preorder somewhere else?

Yes. You are allowed to have a non signed preorder for paperback or eBook anywhere that books are sold. Our exclusivity is only required regarding signed books.

Can I still offer pre-order incentives which I mail to readers who provide proof of purchase for ebook or non signed preorders?

Yes. You may still offer pre-order incentives for all orders.

When can I submit for Scribbles hosting a preorder?

We ask that you only submit 3 months or less to release.

This is because customers tend to get frustrated when it takes too long to get their goodies (even if we tell them it's a preorder 100 times over). To avoid that, we try to reduce the length of time they're waiting for their pre orders!

(The only exclusion is when working with a traditionally published author due to the extensive amount of planning that coordination takes with their publisher.)
